Closet Lighting

Light as a design material, integrated into the millwork — not added on. The difference between a lit closet and a designed one.

Closet Lighting Los Angeles MONO CLOSETS

Closet lighting is usually an afterthought. A plug-in strip light added after the shelves are installed, or an overhead fixture positioned for the room rather than for the task. The result is a closet where you cannot see what you are looking for, where colours appear different to how they look in daylight.

MONO CLOSETS integrates lighting into every closet system as a first-principle design decision. LED strip concealed within hanging sections. Recessed fixtures above open shelving. A vanity mirror light specified for colour accuracy. The lighting is part of the system — designed in, not retrofitted.

Questions

Common questions

What is the difference between integrated and plug-in lighting?+
Integrated lighting is wired during the installation of the closet system — LED strip run within channels in the millwork, connected to a dedicated circuit. Plug-in lighting is added afterwards and typically shows.
What colour temperature is right for a closet?+
2700K–3000K is our standard recommendation. Warm enough to feel comfortable, accurate enough to render colours faithfully.
Can you add lighting to an existing closet?+
Yes — in many cases we can retrofit integrated lighting into an existing system. This depends on the structure of the existing cabinetry and the accessibility of electrical runs.
